농부들에게 농기구는 그저 단순한 도구가 아니다. 그것은 더 나은 미래를 향한 열망이 담긴 삶의 일부이며, 생계와 가족의 미래를 지키기 위한 소중한 도구이다.
그런 연유로 오랫동안 사용하여 기능을 다해도 농부들은 쉽게 버리지 못한다.
'2023섬진강국제실험예술제'에서는 삽, 괭이, 낫, 호미 등 쓰임을 다한 농기구들에 새로운 생명 순환의 역사를 시작하려 한다!
2023년은 해외 미술작가 3인, 죽곡면 상한마을 주민들이 다수 참여예정이며 삶의 애환이 담긴 폐농기구를 활용하여 우리 농촌 삶의 중요한 상징인 농기구들에게 다시한번 자연과 어우러지는 추억을 선물하고자 한다.
땅은 농부에게 삶의 불확실성을 알려주기도 하지만, 그 불확실성을 받아들이고 극복하는 방법을 가르침으로써 자연과 조화를 이루며 살아가야 함을 배우게 한다. 호미와 낫... 그들은 이런 시간을 함께 극복해온 농촌의 가장 든든한 친구이다.

For farmers, farming equipment is not just a tool. It is part of a life with a desire for a better future, and it is a valuable tool for protecting the future of livelihood and family.
For that reason, even if it is used for a long time and functions, farmers cannot easily throw it away.
The 2023 Seomjingang International Experimental Art Festival is trying to establish a new life cycle in rural areas through waste farming tools in rural areas!
In 2023, residents of Sanghan Village in Jukgok-myeon and three foreign artists will participate to present memories of being united with nature to farm equipment, an important symbol of our rural life, by utilizing waste farming equipment.
The land also informs farmers of the uncertainty of life, but teaches them how to accept and overcome the uncertainty to live in harmony with nature. Homie and sickle... They are the most reliable friends of the countryside who have overcome these times together.
